Madoka Magica and the Monogatari series are two of renowned anime studio, SHAFT’s greatest and most popular works. As the studio celebrates it 40th anniversary, they held an exhibition called Madogatari, which not only featured the two series, but their other works as well.
As the exhibition is coming back to Tokyo for an encore this 22 – 25 September, after touring other Japanese cities like Osaka, Sapporo, and Nagoya, Madoka Magica’s original character designer, Ume Aoki, and Monogatari light novel series illustrator, VOFAN, recently teamed up for new crossover artworks for the exhibition. Both of which feature Monogatari’s Shinobu Oshino and MadoMagi’s Madoka Kaname.
The Madogatari exhibitions have enjoyed over 40,000 visitors during its tour, and the artworks will be featured as anniversary cards for the Tokyo encore Is it just me or are those new artworks lacking something… oh, right, the SHAFT HEAD TILT.
Not only that, but Taito is also offering some special Kyuubey cushions which feature the evil creature in two familiar hairstyles…
