Digimon’s 20th anniversary is about to begin next year, and a new countdown website is counting down to 2017’s celebrations, and it is hosted by the franchise’s own official website.
The countdown is scheduled to reach zero at 10:00 am JST on 6 January 2017, and it’s anybody’s guess whatever it could be.
Bandai launched the original virtual pet game back in June 1997, and it never looked back ever since, resulting in several successful TV anime and animated films, as well as several video games and a ton of merchandise.
Currently, the Digimon Adventure tri. series, which celebrates the anime’s 15th anniversary, is ongoing, and released as movies in Japan, while the Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters is also currently ongoing, and breathing a fresh air into the franchise, as tri. is bringing in some nostalgia.
