The progress of the final Rebuild of Evangelion movie has had some fans scratching their heads, as they have waited for the next one of a few years now. But during the Studio Khara 10th anniversary exhibition at the Laforet Museum Harajuku, Evangelion director Hideaki Anno made a comment about its progress.

During a talk, the Shin Godzilla director commented that Studio Khara, which currently holds the rights to the Rebuild of Evangelion, is already working hard on the production of Evangelion: 3.0+1.0. He also added that he was also “trying his best.” However, when asked for a time frame for its release, Anno stated that he didn’t know.

Anno’s comments come in line with the recent comments made by Evangelion animator, Takeshi Honda, who stated that they are “actually working on the new Evangelion film right now,” and added that  “We’re working hard and it’ll come out eventually, so thanks for all of your patience – please continue to be patient, because it’s going to be the last episode.”

Well, at least we now know they are already working on it, right? So sit tight folks, as an announcement for the film’s release is bound to be made sooner or later.
