With the release of Vol. 21 of Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga, a wrap-around jacket has revealed that the much-anticipated second season is now slated to premiere sometime in April 2017.
The first anime premiered back in April 2013, which means that the second season will be shown on the same season that the first one was shown in, which is the spring anime season. The second season was first announced in November 2014, and it was originally slated for 2016, however, it was moved to 2017, and now, they have announced an exact release period.
WIT STUDIO will once again be animating the series, with Tetsuro Araki serving as the chief director, and Masashi Koizuka as the director. The original cast of the anime’s surviving characters are also slated to return.
