Mangaka often have stressful work schedules that can take its toll on a person’s body, with a lot of them not getting any rest. In the most extreme cases, the mangaka only sleeps for a total of two hours per week. Another mangaka seems to have fallen ill, as Weekly Shonen Magazine has announced that mangaka Nakaba Suzuki has been hospitalised after undergoing surgery. This has resulted in having his popular action-fantasy manga, The Seven Deadly Sins, to go on hiatus until January next year.

However, Shounen magazine told fans not to worry as his condition is not as serious as they might think and he’s just fine, and that he’s actually still doing the spin-off side stories. It’s just the main series that’s going on hiatus after his surgery, so the side stories are still ongoing. The magazine announced that Suzuki and The Seven Deadly Sins manga will be back by their 7th issue for the year 2017, which is due out on 18th January in Japan.

For his part, Suzuki himself left a message for the fans of his manga, stating that:

I’m sorry to have to pause, but I plan to resume editing as soon as the medical allows. But we’ll be also keeping in touch at the mini series! Thank you so much for continuing to read and we’ll see each other very soon!

Get well soon Suzuki-sensei, and take care of yourself!
