The official One Week Friends live-action film website has revealed that the two leads from the anime adaptation of Matcha Hazuki’s school drama manga are getting voice roles in the film. Seiyuu Yoshitaka Yamaya, who voiced Yuuki Hase, and Sora Amamiya, who voiced Kaori Fujimiya in the One Week Friends TV anime, will both have their voices featured in the film.

Brain’s Base animated the TV anime, and many people consider that the role of Kaori Fujimiya as Sora Amamiya’s star-making role. She also sang the anime’s ED song, which is titled “Kanade”. Fans also consider the TV anime, which aired during spring 2014, as one of the best of the year.

 Haruna Kawaguchi plays Kaori Fujimiya for the film, while Kento Yamazaki plays Yuuki Hase. Shosuke Murakami (Densha Otoko) is directing the film.

Kawaguchi appeared on the live-action Say “I love you” film as Mei Tachibana. Meanwhile, her co-star, Kento Yamazaki, is considered the king of live-action adaptations of anime. He appeared as Kousei Arima in Your Lie in April and as Kakeru Naruse in Orange. He will be appearing as Josuke Higashikata in the live-action Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure film.

The film is premiering on 18 February 2017, and will be adapting Matcha Hazuki’s popular manga into a live-action film. They will also be releasing the TV anime as a Blu-ray box set on 22 February.
