A new Philippines-based idol group is being planned as one of the latest international AKB48 sister groups, and it is called MNL48. Auditions for the group have now opened. Hundreds of Filipina girls are auditioning, but one MNL48 aspirant is someone people did not expect – Exodia the Forbidden One from Yu-Gi-Oh!
So if all five cards are collected, will Exodia the Forbidden One automatically get selected as an official member of MNL48? Because every Yu-Gi-Oh! fan knows that Exodia always wins when all five cards are completed…
The official profile even contains the card’s effect as its message:
If you have “Right Leg of the Forbidden One”, “Left Leg of the Forbidden One”, “Right Arm of the Forbidden One” and “Left Arm of the Forbidden One” in addition to this card in your hand, you win the Duel.
Here’s how the official website describes MNL48:
Born in 2016 through the cooperative efforts of HalloHallo Entertainment and AKS Co., LTD.,MNL48 aims to revolutionize the Philippine entertainment landscape by transforming ordinary girls into international superstars.
The Filipino idol group will continue AKB48’s original concept of “idols you can meet” by performing daily at their own theater. MNL48 is committed to pleasing fans by always performing up to the best of their abilities whilst keeping in mind that they are on an international stage with the whole world as their audience.
The group is divided into three teams: M N & L and follow a ranking system similar to that of AKB48. The MNL48 ranking system comprises of a Center Girl, Super 7, Selections (all-stars), Under Girls, Next Girls, Future Girls and Kenkyusei (trainees).
So, will Exodia be selected as a member? We still don’t know yet, but maybe if we put our trust in the deck, the Forbidden One might be the latest idol dancing around in South East Asia…
