The hit ice skating anime, Yuri on Ice, has helped popularize the sport of figure skating. Now, it is holding a special event that would help teach the sport with help from footage from the anime itself.

Kenji Miyamoto, the choreographer who helped in the anime’s competition scenes, will be hosting the event, which is titled “Yuri on Ice ~Figure Skate o 100-Bai Tanoshimu Shuuchuu Kougi~”, together with figure skater Akiko Suzuki. They will be using Yuri on Ice footage to help fans understand the sport even more.

The event will have two sessions, and and of these sessions will feature seiyuu from the anime. For both sessions, series creator Mitsuru Kubou and Yuuri Katsuki seiyuu, Toshiyuki Toyonaga will be participating. Meanwhile, for the first session, it will feature Yutarou Honjou (Guang-Hong Ji), and Shunichi Toki (Leo de la Iglesia). Finally, the second session will feature Yuri Plisetsky himself, Kouki Uchiyama.

The Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo will be hosting the event on 3rd March, and tickets cost 4,500 yen. There also seems to be a high demand for it, as the movie will be screened in 48 theaters around Japan. These theaters will be streaming the event live as they teach everyone about figure skating.
