Legendary mangaka, Go Nagai, is getting a new anime adaptation for his action/ horror classic, Devilman. However, this time, Netflix is getting involved. The worldwide streaming service is planning to make it into one of their original series, much like Voltron. They are giving the anime the official title, “Devilman – Crybaby”.

In addition, Netflix is also releasing the anime in 190 countries or territories. They will then release it in nine different dubbed languages and 25 different languages for its subtitles. The series is part of Go Nagai’s 50th anniversary as a mangaka.

Critically-acclaimed Ping Pong the Animation director, Masaaki Yuasa, is directing this new series at Science SARU studio. Meanwhile, both Aniplex and Dynamic Planning are producing the project. They also revealed new visuals for this upcoming Netflix original.

The staff, together with Go Nagai himself, will be appearing on stage during Anime Japan 2017. During the event, they will be talking about the anime, as well as make some new announcements.
