Kana Akatsuki’s Violet Evergarden novels have been an emotional roller coaster, and Kyoto Animation is adapting it! While there is still little news about the anime adaptation, the studio released a brand new CM for the novels. As expected of Kyoto Animation, the video is as gorgeous as they come.

The ad is really just for the novels and not the anime, but you can tell that KyoAni went all out with this one. And if that’s only for the novels, imagine what the anime adaptation will look like? The video introduces us to the novels’ main protagonist, Violet Evergarden, an Auto Memories Doll.

So far, not much information has been made about the anime, but judging from the commercial for the novel, it’s gonna look beautiful. Kyoto Animation describes the story as:

“Auto Memories Doll.

It’s been quite a while since that name caused a fuss. Originally invented by Professor Orland solely for his beloved wife, Auto Memories Dolls eventually spread out into the world, and agencies were created that allows people to rent out the dolls.

“I will run as fast as I can to wherever my customer desires. I am the Auto Memories Doll, Violet Evergarden.”

A girl who almost appears to have popped out of a fairy tale with her blonde hair and blue eyes said this with her inorganic beauty and sweet voice.”

The novels are considered groundbreaking, as they are the first to win the grand prize in the fifth Kyoto Animation Award back in 2014.
