It’s the Awards season, which usually means that critically-acclaimed films are winning awards left and right. However, one critically-acclaimed animated film seems to be struggling this awards season, and that’s your name. Not only did the Oscars and the Golden Globes snub the film, but also failed to win Anime of the Year and Japan Academy Prize’s Best Animation Prize. However, their luck seems to have turned with Belgium’s Anima Fest Awards, also known as the Brussels Animation Film Festival.

During the night, the Anima Fest awarded your name with their Best Animated Feature. This is considered big because for the first time, Japanese anime films won back to back. Last year, Mamoru Hosoda’s The Boy and the Beast won the award, which certainly paved the way for your name. Many in Belgium consider the prize as one of the country’s most important animation awards, so the win is also very significant.

Meanwhile, the festival also screened Tatsuyuki Nagai’s Anthem of the Heart. The anime film also won during the festival, as it took the BeTV Award for Best Animated Feature. They also screened In This Corner Of The World. However, the critically-acclaimed animated film didn’t win any award.
