Netflix is adapting Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s classic thriller manga, Death Note, into a live-action film. Blair Witch director, Adam Wingard, is directing the film, and they have now released a new teaser trailer:

The teaser trailer features Paper Towns actor, Nat Wolff, as Light Turner, the Americanised version of Light Yagami. It also ends by teasing Ryuk, who is voiced by Spider-Man’s Green Goblin himself, Willem Defoe. The video also announces that the film will premiere via Netflix on 25th August.

And speaking of Ryuk, the staff released a new still image of what seems to be him. The image features the creature sitting across Light Turner.

Meanwhile, Straight Outta Compton’s Keith Stanfield will be playing light’s arch nemesis, L. So, what do you think of the new Death Note so far?
