Legendary mecha designer, Kunio Okawara, has made a name for himself thanks to the Gundam franchise. Now, the man behind the designs of the RX-78-2 Gundam and Zaku is returning to the franchise he helped build. Gundam Ace’s now-released May 2017 edition revealed that they will be releasing three new Gundam manga, including a new one from Okawara himself!

Okawara’s new manga celebrates the magazine’s 15th anniversary, as well as the 30th anniversary of Gundam video games. However, the issue didn’t reveal much details about the series’ title. They did, however, reveal that this series will have new characters and mobile suits.

As for the second new manga, it will adapt the Mobile Sut Gundam Gaiden – Colony no Ochita Chi de game. Finally, Gundam UC novel author, Harufushi Fukui, will be writing the third series. The magazine will be announcing more details for these two new manga in the future as well.
