Japan’s IT Media News reports that the All Japan Concert & Live Entertainment Promoter’s Conference (ACPC) will be launching a new service called “TikeTore”. “TikeTore” matches fans selling tickets to concerts or events they will be unable to attend, with fellow fans who were unable to purchase tickets during the initial launch. “TikeTore” will be facilitated by one of Japan’s leading ticket outlets Ticket Pia.

ACPC is an industry organization that is composed of music and events promoters, including concerts, festivals, 2.5D musicals, and related companies. ACPC has been initiating moves to prevent ticket scalping and counterfeiting, including setting up the Tenbai No initiative: a campaign signed by Japanese acts like T.M.Revolution, BABYMETAL, L’Arc-en-ciel, and LiSA, as well as festivals such as Animelo Summer Live, Fuji Rock Festival, and Rock In Japan.

TikeTore will be officially launched in June 2017. At the initial offering, only the sale of paper tickets will be accepted by the service (however, electronic tickets may be accepted in the future). To buy and sell tickets, TikeTore members must upload a copy of a government approved identity card such as a passport. Once a deal is reached between two fans, TikeTore will hold the money in escrow on behalf of the buyer, and only remit it to the seller once the event is over.
