Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has proven to be a huge success in the global box office. Now, it’s about to hit Japan as well. The movie held a preview screening event at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills recently, and they featured the film’s Japanese dub cast, which was led by Star Lord’s Japanese dub seiyuu, Koichi Yamadera. However, the cast surprised everyone when they appeared in cosplay… as their characters!
While Yamadera reprises his role as Peter Quill/ Star Lord, comedian Kouji Kato also returned as Rocket Raccoon. Meanwhile, veteran actor Kenichi Endou also returned to reprise his role as Groot. Finally, AKB48 idol Sayaka Akimoto joined the cast as the empath, Mantis.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is now showing in theaters across the world, but will hit Japan on 12th May.
