Did you know that Japan also has its own awards for toys and other figures? Organised by the Japan Toy Association, the Japan Toy Awards celebrates excellency in toys, as well as figures. Now, they have announced the winners for this year’s edition, which seem to be dominated by one company:

Previous Fiscal Year Hit Sales Award: Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Transformation Belt DX Gamer Driver (Bandai)

Communication Toy category: Chikyuu Marugoto Sugoroku globe board game (Megahouse)

Excellence Awards (Boys): Kyuutama Gattai KyuurenO from Uchuu Sentai Kyuuranger (Bandai)
Excellence Awards (Girls): MazeMaze Henshin! Sweets Pact DX from Kirakira ☆ Precure a la Mode (Bandai)

Innovative Toy category: Dragon Ball Z VR for BotsNew (Megahouse)

The Bandai Namco group also owns Megahouse, as the figure company also serves as a subsidiary for the company. Bandai’s booth during the Tokyo Toy Show also displayed the winners from 1st to 4th June.They held the event at the Tokyo Big Sight in Odaiba.
