If you’re a fan of male artists from Japan, you’re in for a treat! Today we’re shining the spotlight on “The God with the Healing Voice”, Tomohisa Sako!
Tomohisa Sako was born in 1991 in the snowy island of Hokkaido in Japan. In 2010, he started performing music online as Shounen T — it was snowing heavily in Hokkaido, and he couldn’t perform on the streets. His music received positive response, and soon he was called “The God with the Healing Voice”. Collectively, the videos he uploaded of his singing have been viewed over 13.5 million time!
In 2012, he made a major debut with his first single, “Ai Kotoba”. Three of his singles reached the Top 10 of the Oricon Daily Charts — the Japanese equivalent of the Billboard Music Charts. He is also an active stage actor, with roles in “Tumbling Vol. 4” and “Nijiiro Orchestra”.
In 2015, his sing Gettabanban was chosen as the opening theme song of the television anime, Pocket Monster XY. He was also the comprehensive producer of Pocket Monster XY&Z. His latest single, “Floria” is the opening theme song of the TV anime, Natsume’s Book of Friends. A multi-talented singer-songwriter, Tomohisa Sako not only produces his own music, he also produces songs for other artists too.
Tomohisa recently met with fans in C3 AFA Bangkok, where he had short talk as well as a showcase live for all the fans (mostly ladies!) who showed up! We hope his Indonesian fans show the same support — if not more, as he performs at C3 AFA Jakarta very soon!
