For years, Gintama has been breaking the 4th wall as if it didn’t existed. They could even give Deadpool and My Little Pony’s Pinkie Pie a run for their money! But what happens when it gets its own live-action adaptation? The actor playing Gintoki, Shun Oguri, got to kick manga Gintoki out of the cover of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine of course!

It looks like manga Gintoki ain’t happy at all! Jump featured the live-action x manga crossover cover for their 32nd issue.

Aside from the cover, the live-action film also showed not one, but two new CMs. The first CM has a connection with the TV anime, as seiyuu Rie Kugimiya narrates it. As we all know, Queen TsundeRIE voices Kagura in the TV anime.

The live-action film also got a new CM focusing on Gintoki, Takasugi, and Zura… I mean Katsura’s relationship.

As for the film itself, it premieres in Japan on 14th July. It stars Kana Hashimoto as Kagura, Masaki Suda as Shinpachi Shimura, and of course, Shun Oguri as Gintoki Sakata. Oh, and Elizabeth is in the movie too!
