One of the seminal works of 2000’s anime is back in a big way with the announcement of Theatrical FLCL 2 and 3! FLCL 2 comes with a 2018 release date, with FLCL 3 following soon after that. Accompanying this bombshell announcement is the return of Japanese alternative rock act and soundtrack artistses “the pillows”, who will once again create the music for FLCL 2 and 3.
FLCL 2 and 3 will marks the return of most of the staff from the first FLCL, including creator Kazuya Tsurumaki and character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. The new films will be helmed by “PSYCHO-PASS” director Katsuyuki Motohiro, with the screenplay written by “Last Dinner” writer Hideto Iwai. Production I.G will likewise be handling the production.
