Comic Market, or Comiket, is one of the anime industry’s biggest events. It’s actually a venue for fans to show off their own works, as well as for big companies to sell merchandise. Hundreds of thousands of fans gather for the event’s three days, and many of them even come from overseas.

But one fan’s determination to get to Comiket has caught the attention of everyone. This is because he traveled 77 hours straight by bike just to get to Comiket 92’s venue, the Tokyo Big Sight.

Twitter user @DJ_FLANDRE traveled with his bike from Aichi Prefecture all the way to Odaiba. In total, he traveled 760Km, and even got lost a few times. Because of this, he lost four hours of travel when he got lazy and got lost in Toyota. He braved hot weather in his bike, and often only stopping at night inside net cafes to sleep. It was so hot that he got himself a pretty nice tan too!

Despite the hot weather, DJ_FLANDRE trudged on. However, once he got to the town of Numazu, the holy land for Love Live Sunshine, he decided to take a short pilgrimage break. But then, he set off again on his quest to reach Comiket by bike.

However, as he reached the mountains of Hakone, the elements went against him, as rain caused even more delays. The fog in Hakone didn’t help either. The delays costed him a lot, as it was already dark when he reached Hakone-Yumoto Station.

He reached Yokohama by 3:00 pm on 11th August, which means that his delays costed him the first day of Comiket.

However, his odyssey captured the hearts of many. Because of his dedication, he gained nearly 3,000 followers. Some of his twitter followers even met with him to offer food and also wished him well. With Comiket currently underway, many are wondering how he’ll manage to get home. However, if he decides to take the train, nobody will blame him… especially with his Comiket 92 hauls.
