We can hardly contain our excitement as C3 AFA Jakarta comes to Indonesia! From the 18th to the 20th of August 2017, Japanese pop culture fans are can expect the biggest event in the country to bring the best in exhibitions, cosplayers, and anisong! And by best — we mean best: put your hands together for May’n!

Since her role as the singing voice of Macross Frontier’s Sheryl Nome, May’n has become a recognizable name not just in Japan but all over the world! She makes a triumphant return to Jakarta this year, and before the big event she sat down to answer a few questions from WOW Japan.

You have been to Indonesia before. What are you looking forward to with your return?

Definitely the delicious food! My favorite is mee goreng ♡ My second favorite is tomat belanda– it’s this juice that tastes like tomato and orange juice. This flavor is something you will never find in Japan, and I like it a lot!

Compared to other Japanese singers, you are very adventurous and perform a lot in other countries. Is there a difference between your fans overseas and your fans back in Japan?

Their passion just goes “I wanna scream out loud”, and exceeds even that of Japanese fans.

Who is your biggest musical inspiration and why?

Ever since I was a little girl, it has always been Namie Amuro!

Tell us something interesting about yourself – for example, what is your pre-concert ritual?

Before concerts I jump rope and do squats, so while I’m still sweating I go onstage! When your body feels warm, your nerves calm down, and your excitement increases ☆

I’m back again in Indonesia after three years! I have been here for a solo concert previously, so it’s a great place that I really love. Let’s all have a great time together — I’m looking ofrward to it very much!
