On 1st October, Animax’s variety Show, AniCulBu, will be hostingĀ A Certain Magical Index producer Kohei Kawase and light novel Kazuma Miki. In anticipation of their guesting, they have set up a special page for that pre-recorded episode. However, it seems that it has leaked something the two guests talked about on the show. And what was this leak? It revealed that A Certain Magical Index will be getting a third season. The website has since taken down the leak, but many anime news sites in Japan have vigilantly made a screenshot.

The announcement said that in 2008, Kazuma Kamachi’s A Certain Magical Index light novels got its anime adaptation. It then had a second season in 2011, and six years later, Season 3 gets the green light. It made no further announcements, so we might not get any more details until 1st October when the episode airs.

1st October will also serve as the date for theĀ Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2017 event. Thanks to the leak, many are also expecting the announcement to officially during theĀ “new work announcements” panel.

Since Full Metal Panic has finally gotten its long-awaited 4th season, many fans have turned to Index as the anime with the most long-awaited sequel. Now, thanks to the leak, it seems that fans may have to turn to another series to turn into a meme about waiting for a sequel. Sorry folks, no “Still Waiting for Index Season 3” memes anymore…
