In the sport of cycling, accidents may happen anytime. Sadly, that truth came into play during the filming of the upcoming Yowamushi Pedal 2 live-action drama. While filming a scene where the riders are going downhill, actor Eiji Takigawa suddenly met an accident and suffered serious injury. Takigawa plays as Juichi Fukutomi from Hakone Academy for the live-action series.

According to Japanese newspaper, Asahi Shimbun, the cast are crew were filming on a road along the Misakachou Toonoki area of Fuefuki, Yamanashi Prefecture. And during filming, Takigawa suddenly collided with the left curb while trying to ride along the right curb. He suffered serious injuries on his whole body, and is now recuperating at a hospital. The newspaper also reported that police are now investigating the causes of the incident.

Yowamushi Pedal 2 will air in two parts, and will be following Sakamichi Onoda’s first Inter-High competition. The first part, which comprises of seven episodes, already started airing last 18th August. Meanwhile, the second part of the series, which has six episodes, premieres this November 2017.
