Last December 2016, Ritz Kobayashi’s mahjong manga, Saki, got itself a live-action TV drama, as then a film in January. Now, Saki’s spin-off manga, Saki Achiga-hen episode of Side-A, will also be getting the same treatment. As revealed by Young Gangan magazine, the spin-off focusing on Achiga Academy will also get a film and drama.

They still haven’t revealed much details about the live-action adaptations though, but we do know when they’ll air. Much like the previous Saki live-action, the Achiga-hen spin-off drama will begin in December 2017, while the film premieres in January 2018.

While the original manga focused on Saki Miyanaga and the Kiyosumi High School Mahjong Club, the spin-off focuses on the girls of Achiga Academy. Expect the staff to reveal more details, such as the cast members and roles, in the days ahead.
