Looks like it’s not just Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu that’s getting an anime film, but also Touken Ranbu Hanamaru. According to the official Hanamaru website, it will be a compilation film which takes a look back at the first season. They’ve also revealed a brand new teaser trailer for it as well:

Officially titled Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru ~Makuai Kaisouroku~, the film will premiere this 1st December. This new compilation film will also screen a month ahead of the second season of the TV anime, Zoku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru, which premieres in January 2018. It will have a 2-week limited run in 21 theatres across Japan.

The second season will also feature a few staff changes. Tomoaki Koshida replaces Takashi Naoya as the director, while WriteWorks replacer Pierre Sugiura in writing the script. And while ufotable is handling the Katsugeki series, Doga Kobo will be responsible for animating the Hanamaru series. While the Katsugeki series has a more serious tone, the Hanamaru series has a more relaxed an upbeat story. Both series are based on DMM and Nitroplus’s hot PC browser game, Touken Ranbu.
