Seiyuu and stage actress, Reiko Seno, has been voicing anime characters for decades now. However, she has passed away last 8th August at the ripe old age of 84.

Her most well-known role would be as Spoon Oba-san’s titular character. She voiced the sweet old lady from 1983-1984, with the anime becoming very popular with kids. Her other anime roles Toshiko Kitabayashi in Eden of the East: Paradise Lost, as well as Ojiya in Dororo.

The seiyuu also has plenty of voice-over roles, including as Lucille Ball in the classic TV series, I Love Lucy. She’s also an accomplished stage actress, and is part of the Theatre Echo troupe.

Our hearts go out to her family and friends. We send our deepest condolences to them, and may she rest in peace.
