TOHO Cinemas as has released a brand new animated ad, and it features a few familiar faces. They released this new ad to promote their new theater in Ueno, which will be opening this 4th November. It features Naruto and Boruto, and it looks like they are trolling Kami-Usagi Rope’s Rope and Akira.
Aside from the TOHO Cinemas Magazine YouTube channel, several theaters will also be running the ad. The cinemas in Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa, and Saitama (excluding Kinshicho) will be the ones screening the new video. These theaters will also distribute 1,000 special postcards, as well as Boruto posters in celebration of the new Ueno theater.
And it seems that this won’t be Kami Usagi Rope’s first collaboration with another franchise. The popular anime shorts also previously teamed up with the minions of Despicable Me. Surprisingly, they also teamed up with Hollywood director, Tim Burton of all people.
