Hayao Miyazaki recently visited Tokyo’s Waseda University for the opening of their Natsume Soseki Memorial Museum. And in front of an audience of 1,000 people, the anime legend revealed new details about his new upcoming film. According to Miyazaki, his final film’s title is “Kimi-tachi wa Dou Ikiru ka”, or How Do You Live?

It seems like Miyazaki’s new film has the same title as Genzaburou Yoshino’s 1937 classic novel. But while he won’t be basing on the book, Miyazaki reveals that the book’s story itself has great meaning for the film’s protagonist. The Academy Award-winner also told the audience that he will be releasing it within 3-4 years.

Previously, it was revealed that he is coming out of retirement to dedicate the new movie for his grandson. As for him coming out of retirement, the NHK documentary, Owaranai Hito, or “One Who Doesn’t End,” revealed his plans.
