After the original Major baseball manga ended, it seems like protagonist Goro had a son. Now, that son stars in his own baseball manga titled Major 2nd. And it looks like he is following in his father’s footsteps, as Major 2nd is also getting a TV anime adaptation. The 47th issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine made the announcement with a color page.

The previous issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday has been teasing an important announcement last week. As it turns out, that important announcement is actually a TV anime adaptation, so Major fans, rejoice!

The original anime received a 154-episode TV anime adaptation, as well as an OVA and an anime film. It follows Goro Honda, who lost his professional baseball player father in an accident. After his father’s untimely demise, he sets out to be a pro himself. As for Major 2nd, it follows Goro’s son, Daisuke, as he tries to find his own path to the majors.
