The new UQ Holder TV anime takes us back to the world of Mahou Sensei Negima! Set 80 years after the events of the first series, the anime serves as an indirect sequel to Negi Springfield’s story. And to promote this new anime, Bessatsu Shounen Magazine recently featured Yui Ogura in its November issue cover.

She voices Karin in the anime, as well as performs both the OP and ED songs alongside the other cast members. And sure enough, it didn’t take long for Negima and UQ Holder mangaka, Ken Akamatsu, to draw his own take on the cover. Here is Yui Ogura in the style of the legendary Ken Akamatsu:

And don’t worry folks, because the magazine’s November issue also includes that illustration. This means that you won’t just get 3D Yui Ogura, but her 2D version by Ken Akamatsu as well!

UQ Holder follows a boy named Touta, who is an orphan. He also happens to be the student of someone Negima fans are familiar with: Evangeline A.K. McDowell.
