C3 AFA Singapore 2017 will be hosting the Asia Premiere of “Violet Evergarden”, and as part of this worldwide event, “Violet Evergarden” Character Designer Akiko Takase and Screenwriter Haruka Fujita will be part of the special Stage Event. C3 AFA Singapore 2017 will be held at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre on the 24th to the 26th of November 2017.

“Violet Evergarden” was originally a novel written by Kana Akatsuki (KA Esuma Bunko/Kyoto Animation) which won the the Grand Prize at the 5th Kyoto Animation Award. The Kyoto Animation Award is a novel-writing competition that has been hosted by Kyoto Animation Co.,Ltd. since 2009. In the past, works such as “Chu-2 Byo Demo Koi ga Shitai”, “Kyokai no Kanata”, and “High☆Speed!” have received honorable mentions, and were published as novels as well as given animated adaptations. “Violet Evergarden” is the very first to shine as the “Grand Prize” winner — the highest award in this contest.

Character Designer: Akiko Takase

Akiko Takase is also one of Kyoto Animation’s best young animators. She has Key Animation credit in so many of Kyoto Animation’s biggest titles, including Amagi Brilliant Park, Beyond the Boundary, Beyond the Boundary -I’LL BE HERE- Future, Free! Eternal Summer, High Speed! -Free! Starting Days-, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, Myriad Colors Phantom World, Sound! Euphonium, Sound! Euphonium 2, Tamako Love Story, and A Silent Voice.

Screenwriter: Haruka Fujita

Haruka Fujita is one of the rising new talents of Kyoto Animation and the Screenwriter of Violet Evergarden. She has Storyboard credit in popular Kyo to Animation titles such as High Speed! -Free! Starting Days-, Sound! Euphonium, and Sound! Euphonium 2. She has Key Animation credit for Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club, Hyōka, and Nichijou – My Ordinary Life. Last but not least, she was the episode director for several installments of the anime Free! Eternal Summer, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, and Sound! Euphonium 2.
