The live-action The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. film has now premiered in Japan, and it certainly made people laugh out loud. But did you guys know that The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. mangaka, Shuuichi Aso, also made an appearance in the film? In fact, three weeks after the film premiered, the mangaka posted an image of himself on location. It looks like he actually appeared in the film as a P.K. Academy student.

Most mangaka are actually quite shy about revealing their identities, and it looks like Aso-sensei is one of them. However, the ever-funny mangaka also said in a tweet that “It was very difficult for a 30-year-old man to prepare for a role of a high school student.” He even joked that  “I think I was able to grow one step as an actor.”

In response, fellow comedic mind and the director behind the film, Yuuichi Fukuda said “It was a wonderful acting”. Those two must have went along well together on set…

The live-action The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. film is currently showing in Japan. It stars Kento Yamazaki as the film’s titular Saiki K.
