Looks like it’s finally time to say goodbye to Sadako Sawako and Kazehaya. This is because Shueisha has released the December issue of Bessatsu Margaret magazine last 13th November. This new issue contains the final chapter of Karuho Shiina’s hit romance manga, Kimi ni Todoke.

The final chapter also has color opening pages, as befitting of a long-running manga. Shiina began serilisation back in 2006, which means that the manga has ran for 12 years now. While some manga struggled to keep serialisation for just one year, Kimi ni Todoke has proven its staying power by staying on for over a decade. The series also got two TV anime seasons, as well as a live-action film. What an achievement indeed! Congratulations Shiina-sensei!

And because Kimi ni Todoke has become a legendary romance manga, the magazine is paying tribute in a huge way! For their January 2018 issue, due out on 13th December, several renowned mangaka will be drawing tribute artworks for the manga. The mangaka include Detective Conan’s Gosho Aoyama, as well as Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Hirohiko Araki. Tokyo Ghoul’s Sui Ishida, as well as Chihayafuru’s Yuki Suetsugi will also be contributing as well! Looks like the manga is really going out with a bang, huh?
