Netflix will be making a new anime adaptation for Go Nagai’s classic horror manga, Devilman. Officially titled Devilman Crybaby, the streaming service has now unveiled a brand new PV for the upcoming anime. They also revealed a brand new key visual, as well as the anime’s theme song, “MAN HUMAN” by Denki Groove.

Aside from the new PV and theme song singers, the staff also confirmed that the anime will have a simultaneous global premiere. This will happen on 5 October 2018 in all territories which has Netflix. The staff also revealed a brand new key visual for this new Go Nagai anime.

The project celebrates Go Nagai’s 50 years as a mangaka. The celebrations also include the upcoming Mazinger Z the movie: Infinity film. Here’s how Netflix describe’s the new anime’s story:

The protagonist Akira Fudo learns from his best friend, Ryo Asuka, that an ancient race of demons has returned to take back the world from humans. Ryo tells Akira that the only way to defeat the demons is to incorporate their supernatural powers, and suggests that he unite with a demon himself. Akira succeeds in transforming into Devilman, who possesses both the powers of a demon and the soul of a human. The battle of Devilman and Akira Fudo begins.

Science SARU is producing the animation, while Ping Pong the Animation’s Masaaki Yuasa is directing it.
