The Uesugi have gained a reputation as one of Japan’s most famous samurai clans, especially during the Sengoku era. Now, the famed clas has teamed up with the Sano Art Museum in Mishima, Shizuoka for a special sword exhibition officially titled “Treasured Swords of the Uesugi Clan”. However, they aren’t just teaming up with the museum to show off their family swords. This is because they are also teaming up with DMM and Nitroplus’s hit PC browser game, Touken Ranbu. And yes, it will also feature a sword which Uesugi Kenshin himself used.

The exhibition will display Uesugi Kenshin’s Kenshin Kagemitsu and Gokotai, as well as other swords that the clan has kept. However, the centerpiece of the exhibition will be Oda Nobunaga’s own katana, Fudou Yukimitsu. The clan has kept Oda Nobunaga’s sword for years now, and they are including it in the exhibition.

Aside from the real-life counterparts of Touken Ranbu’s sword boys, the exhibition will also display several life-size standees. And of course, they will also sell exclusive Touken Ranbu goodies as well. The Sano Art Museum will kick off the exhibition in Shizuoka on 7th January. However, they will only show the exhibition for a limited time, which is only until 18th February.
