C3 AFA Singapore 2017 is rocking the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 24th to the 26th of November 2017! Check out the massive exhibition hall, the star-studded guest list, and the biggest anisong concert in South East Asia! And now for the first time ever, one of the most talented young rockers to come out of the scene — Shiena Nishizawa! Shiena-san takes a few minutes out of her hectic schedule to answer a few questions for us here at WOW Japan!

How did you feel when you heard your voice on the radio for the first time?

I loved listening to the radio since I was little, so I was very happy. Especially the time I started to be asked to come as a guest personality in programs, it was really like a dream. It was for a program I Iistened to regularly on the internet, so I listened to it plenty of times, and I was very happy.

You’ve performed all over the world so early in your career. How does that feel like?

I am truly happy to be able to share my songs to people all over the world. I am thankful to all the fans who chose me while there are many other singers in the world!

Do you have any rituals you perform backstage before coming out?

Because the tension always makes hands cold before the actual show, I desperately need to warm up (LOL). Otherwise I won’t be able to play guitar!

Talk us through the process of creating a song.

Although I don’t have a lot of experience with composing, whenever I have an idea about the melody and think “This is it!”, I use the voice memo function on my mobile phone to record it. I still find it a bit difficult to build a song from there, but I hope to be able to make lots of songs, and learn more about composing as well!

Is there a particular artiste you would want to collaborate with, and who?

My dream is… The Foo Fighter! I want to scream with the front man Dave Grohl!
