The Sakura Wars franchise has inspired a lot of media, from anime to manga to even live-action musicals. Now, the classic Sega video game is celebrating the franchise’s art with the “Sakura Taisen Art Festival 2017” event. It will feature Sakura Wars artworks from the franchise’s original character designers, Hidenori Matsubara and Kousuke Fujishima.

Ah My Goddess mangaka, Kousuke Fujishima, created the original illustrations, while Matsubara served as the anime’s character designer. Matsubara also designed the characters for the anime adaptation of Fujishima’s Ah My Goddess manga.

They will first hold the exhibition in Tokyo’s Gallery Epicute from 26tt-27th December. It will then move to Akihabara UDX’s 4th Floor gallery from 27th-29th December. The first part will feature 30 artworks, while the second part in Akihabara will display 50 artworks.

After that, they will then hold a lottery to determine which fans get to buy these artworks. The franchise’s original seiyuu, Noriko Hidaka (Erica Fontaine), Saeko Shimazu (Glycine Bleumer), Etsuko Kozakura (Coquelicot), and Kikuko Inoue (Lobelia Carlini), will all be attending the event as well. In fact, they will be holding a talk show on 30th December at Akihabara UDX NEXT for the franchise.
