The seiyuu industry has now lost one of its most respected industry veterans, as Tamio Ohki has now passed away. His agency, Mausu Promotion, made the announcement, and they revealed he passed away last 14th December due to an unspecified illness. He was 89.

Fans might know Ohki as the voice of Chief Aramaki in the Ghost in the Shell anime films. He’s also appeared in plenty of other anime as well. These include roles such as Dr Tenma in Astro Boy (1980), as well as Cozets from A Dog of Flanders. He also voiced characters in more recent anime such as Black Bullet’s Kikkunijou Tendou. He also narrated The Heroic Legend of Arslan, and also voiced Innocentis VII in the same anime.

To his family, friends, and colleagues, we here at Wow Japan offer our deepest condolences. He will be missed.
