Doraemon, Nobita, and the rest of the gang are stepping into the world of pirates and treasure for Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Treasure Island. The film will act as the 38th Doraemon film, and now, the staff have released its latest trailer. The new video features the anime’s insert song, “Koko ni Inai Anata e” by Gen Hoshino.

Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic pirate novel, Treasure Island, inspires the new film. As for the trailer, it also teases Yo Oizumi’s character in the film, Captain Silver. Of course, Treasure Island’s pirate antagonist, Long John Silver, inspires the character. He will hold the key to finding Treasure Island in the film.

The anime film opens in Japan on 4rd March, with the TV anime’s episode director, Kazuaki Imai, also making his film directorial debut. Meanwhile, your name’s Genki Kawamura will be writing the Treasure Island-inspired script.
