Renowned Dragon ball seiyuu, Hiromi Tsuru, shocked the seiyuu industry with her sudden passing. Recently, approximately 400 family and friends, as well as industry colleagues, gathered for her memorial service. Her family also adorned her altar with two of her most iconic roles, Anpanman’s Dokin-chan and Bulma. They also placed several Dragon balls floating above as well.

Aside from the altar, they also featured Bulma and Dokin-chan in a banner near the entrance, along with the memorial service details.

Her colleagues also gathered, and many of them are some of the seiyuu industry’s most respected names. They include , Mayumi Tanaka (Krillin), Keiko Toda (Anpanman), Miina Tominaga (Rollpanna), Ryusei Nakao (Baikinman/Freeza), Masako Nozawa (Goku), Tohru Furuya (Yamcha), Ryo Horikawa (Vegeta), Kouichi Yamadera (Beerus), Naoko Watanabe (Chichi), and TARAKO (Anpanman film’s Nosshi), as well as singer Yoko Oginome.

Masako Nozawa, who has worked with Hiromi Tsuru since the early days of Dragon Ball, was visibly upset. In her speech, she said that the Dragon Balls are “useless”. She also added her regret saying that she could have asked her what’s wrong, and maybe even saved her from her demise. She ended her speech by asking her friend to “watch over the world”.

Meanwhile, Ryusei Nakao also made a speech where he said working on Anpanman will be difficult without Dokin-chan. He then spoke in character as Baikinman, and said “Dokin-chan! Bye bye king!”

Rest in peace Hiromi Tsuru! And goodbye Bulma and Dokin-chan! We will surely miss you, and thank you for touching our hearts all these years.
