Looks like Homura Kawamoto and Tohru Naomura’s bestselling gambling manga ain’t just getting a live-action drama, but a 2nd season for its TV anime adaptation as well. This is because the “Hyakkaou Private Academy Cultural Festival” event revealed a second season for Kakegurui. They also released a new key visual featuring the main characters as well.

However, the event didn’t reveal much information yet, but did reveal more details about the live-action drama. They revealed that the drama will first air on MBS on 14th January, before airing on TBS on 16th January.

Here’s how Yen Press, which distributes the manga in English, describes the series:

Hyakkaou Private Academy. An institution for the privileged with a very peculiar curriculum. You see, when you’re the sons and daughters of the wealthiest of the wealthy, it’s not athletic prowess or book smarts that keep you ahead. It’s reading your opponent, the art of the deal. What better way to hone those skills than with a rigorous curriculum of gambling? At Hyakkaou Private Academy, the winners live like kings, and the losers are put through the wringer. But when Yumeko Jabami enrolls, she’s gonna teach these kids what a high roller really looks like!

So, what to expect with this new season? Well, for starters, there’s those now-infamous Kakegurui faces the anime popularised last year. Netflix will be distributing the series around the world, in English, later this year.
