South Korean idol group, TWICE, is becoming very popular overseas, and now, it looks like they’re getting anime makeovers. This is all thanks Takahiko Kyougoku, who directed the new music video’s animation sequences. Fans might also know him as the guy who directed both Love Live and Land of the Lustrous. Titled “Candy Pop,” the new song serves as TWICE’s second single, and here is the new MV:

Well, they certainly picked the right anime director to do the animation sequences, because of Love Live and all. Kyougoku collaborated with JYP Entertainment’s Park Jin-young to produce the video. In addition, TWICE member Chaeyoung also showed her artistic talents by illustrating some of the music video’s hidden characters.

As for the song itself, JYP Entertainment has now released “Candy Pop” digitally. However, they will be releasing the song on a much later date, which is on 7th February. Meanwhile, the group itself has also been trying to be popular overseas, much like other Kpop groups. It seems that with the anime music video, they are planning to appeal to Japanese audiences as well.
