Square Enix’s cult classic, The World Ends with You, is heading to the Nintendo Switch in a remix dubbed The World Ends With You Final Remix.
For those of you who did not play the original. The World Ends With You, the game is set in modern day Japan, where the protagonist, Neku, has face multiple battles in order to save both himself and the world.
Together with the game’s original content, the Switch version will also see the addition of a “new scenario”. The new edition will also enable players to use the Switch’s Joy-Con, on top of the touch screen controls.
The World Ends With You was released back in 2008 for the Original Nintendo DS, and its fanbase has only grown over time. While the developers have never returned to the game’s world for a second installment, the game was also released for iOS devices. With the new announcement, fans will hope that this is a sign that Square Enix is ready to return to the franchise.
Final Remix will be launched later this year.
