Start the Lunar New Year right with C3 AFA Hong Kong 2018! Slated for the 9th until the 11th of February 2018, the event will also play host to the first ever I Love Anisong Hong Kong concert! Fans are in fever pitch as fhána makes their C3 AFA Hong Kong debut!

fhána is a 4-member music group consisting of music producers Junichi Sato, yuxuki waga, kevin mitsunaga, and vocalist towana. fhána was awarded the「NEW ARTISTS 2014」prize by iTunes, as the most-anticipated newcomer artiste of that year. The band’s tenth single “Aozora no Rhapsody” was released in January 2017, and in April 2017 the group released their new song Moon River. Even with their busy schedule, they sat down to answer a few questions for WOW Japan!

Happy New Year! Please share with us one of your New Year’s Resolutions.

Junichi Sato: First of all, I would like to do my best to release and tour for our 3rd album “World Atlas”. Being based mainly in animation and anisong cultures, I also want to actively participate in other kinds of pop culture. I also want to keep doing concerts abroad more and more.

You have been to Hong Kong before. What are you looking forward to with your return?

kevin mitsunaga: I am glad that we can meet the fans in Hong Kong again! Also I am looking forward to the delicious food.

Please tell us a little bit about your new single “A Story for Me ~My Uncompleted Story~”. What was the most fun part about making the single? On the other hand, what was the most challenging part?

Junichi Sato: Shimmering strings and synth, and rolling ever-changing chord progressions are fun to create. But they are also very difficult to play hahaha!

We know your singing career has been very busy lately, so what do you do to relax? Do you have any recommendations we can try?

Junichi Sato: “Seitai” and spa therapy.
towana: When you go outside and take a deep breath, you can relax the most while watching the sky or the moon. I also like to take walks.
yuxuki waga: Game. What I’m playing recently is Overwatch and Monster Hunter World. Also, cooking.
kevin mitsunaga: I try to listen to relaxing music.
