Slated for the 9th until the 11th of February 2018, C3 AFA Hong Kong 2018 will play host to the first ever I Love Anisong Hong Kong concert! This year’s concert features one of the most beloved anisong songstresses — the one and only Luna Haruna!

Luna Haruna got her start as a fashion model for Harajuku street style magazine Kera and Japanese department style Marui, when the meteoric rise of her musical career eclipsed her modelling. Her debut single “Sora wa Takaku Kaze wa Utau” became the second ending theme of the TV anime “Fate/Zero”. Despite her busy schedule, she managed to find the time to answer a few questions from WOW Japan, and we are extremely honoured to share them with you.

Happy New Year! Please share with us one of your New Year’s Resolutions.

Happy New Year! I am hoping for your support again this year! Not just for this year, but I would like to go to various places in Japan and overseas, and bring my music directly to everyone.

You have been to Hong Kong before. What are you looking forward to with your return?

When I go to a place for the first time, I always look forward to enjoying unique local food. Hong Kong was the venue for my very first overseas one man live, so it feels like coming home. I am looking forward to seeing you all in Hong Kong again!

Please tell us a little bit about your new single “KIRAMEKI☆LIFELINE”. What was the most fun part about making the single? On the other hand, what was the most challenging part?

“KIRAMEKI ☆ Lifeline” has been chosen as the ending theme of the animation series “URAHARA”, which is set in Harajuku. In previous songs, I often imagined the 2D world setting of the show, but this time I enjoyed being able to sing about a real place that I love — Harajuku, which I know very well.

I collaborated with Saku-san for the lyrics this time, but it was quite challenging creating lyrics that are not character songs, that can also resonate with the world view of “URAHARA”.

We know your singing career has been very busy lately, so what do you do to relax? Do you have any recommendations we can try?

For a short while I was very much into aromatherapy oils, but ultimately I really love watching my favourite anime. Even titles that were released in the past, I watch them over and over again. I really love watching TV, so during my days off I watch a lot of dramas. My recent favourites include “99.9 Criminal Lawyer Season II” (99.9: Keiji Senmon Bengoshi – Season II), “The Kitazawas: We Mind Our Own Business” (Momikeshite Fuyu: Wagaya no Mondai Nakatta Koto ni), “BG: Personal Bodyguard” (BB Shinpen Keigonin), and so forth.

Please give a message to your fans in Hong Kong.

During Hong Kong concerts, there are so many people who understand Japanese even during the MC, and I feel their love for animation very much. Please come and see my live! I am very much looking forward to having a wonderful time with you.
