Batman is getting yet another run at Japanese animation with Batman Ninja. And to further the excitement, Warner Brothers Japan has now revealed a brand new teaser trailer teasing the Bat Family’s samurai-era adventure.

The new trailer also reveals the film’s Japanese theatrical release date, which is in 15 June 2018. And aside from the new trailer, the staff also revealed the new anime film’s cast, and they are:

  • Takehito Koyasu as Gorilla Grodd
  • Atsuko Tanaka as Poison Ivy
  • Junichi Suwabe as Deathstroke
  • Chou as Penguin
  • Toshiyuki Morikawa as Two-Face
  • Kenta Miyake as Bane
  • Yuuki Kaji as Robin
  • Kengo Kawanishi as Red Robin
  • Daisuke Ono as Nightwing
  • Akira Ishida as Red Hood
  • Houchu Ohtsuka as Alfred

While Kevin Conroy mostly voiced the Dark Knight in games and animation, Kouichi Yamadera will be taking over in the new anime. And while Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, proved he’s also a great villain seiyuu as Mistah J, veteran seiyuu Wataru Takagi will be voicing the infamous Joker. Finally, Ai Kakuma will be voicing Catwoman, while the Rie Kugimiya will voice Harley Quinn.

Here’s how Warner Brothers describes the film’s story:

Batman Ninja takes a journey across the ages as Gorilla Grodd’s time displacement machine transports many of Batman’s worst enemies to feudal Japan – along with the Dark Knight and a few of his allies. The villains take over the forms of the feudal lords that rule the divided land, with the Joker taking the lead among the warring factions. As his traditional high-tech weaponry is exhausted almost immediately, Batman must rely on his intellect and his allies – including Catwoman and the extended Bat-family – to restore order to the land, and return to present-day Gotham City.
