Chihayafuru has made the traditional Japanese card game of Karuta very popular indeed. And to promote the upcoming Chihayafuru: Musubi film, they teamed up with Japanese mobile provider au… as well as a few cats. The video’s title is “Chihanyafuru -Neko no Ku-” (Chihameowfuru: Cat Verse), and it features cats playing Karuta. yeah, things got really catty to say the least…

Aside from the adorable cat video, au also posted a hilarious outtakes video. So yeah, working with cats does take a ton of patience, as well as dedicated cat trainers to do the impossible. And yes, having a laser pointer also helps. Oh, and bonus points for also displaying Yuki Suegetsu’s Chihayafuru manga as a collection in the background.

The first film, Chihayafuru: Kami no Ku, premiered in Japan back in April 2016, while the second film, Shimo no Ku, premiered a month after. Meanwhile, the third and final film will be making its premiere this 17th March. Several cast members will also be returning from the first two films, and they are:
