Spend a weekend in the midst of beautiful cherry blossoms at Sakura Matsuri: Anime Garden at Gardens by the Bay! Scheduled for the 17 and 18th of March 2018, this exciting new event features celebrity cosplayers, games, Japanese food booths, and cultural programmes! There’s also a fabulous free anisong concert headlined by Mika Kobayashi, Luna Haruna, GARNiDELiA, May’n, and last but not least, the memorable Japanese songstress Mashiro Ayano!

WOW Japan is honored to have one of the most exciting artistes in Japan today, take time out of her hectic schedule to answer a few questions from us.

Welcome back to Singapore! What are you looking forward to this time around?

It’s my fourth time to visit Singapore!! It is my pleasure to have a live concert again in Singapore which I really love, and I also love Singaporean food, so I would like to have lots of local food to have a powerful live performance!

Your upcoming performance in Singapore is an outdoor concert. Do you do anything special to prepare for an outdoor live compared to an indoor concert?

I want to cherish the open atmosphere and the passion that is unique to outdoor concerts! I hope everyone shouts out with even bigger voices than before!!

Please tell us a little bit about latest single “starry”. What was the most fun part about making the single? On the other hand, what was the most challenging part?

The part that I enjoyed the most was where the lyrics and sounds had more of a narrative. Creating emotions and putting them into song was a very important step! It was difficult to seek out expressions and singing methods tailored to the Celtic sound. And as the music headed for the chorus, it’s a tune that gradually ascends to a climax, so I had to be mindful about how to express my feelings! I hope you enjoy it together with Record of Grand Crest War!!

You have a very busy schedule these days promoting your new single. What do you do to relax?

I often use natural aroma oils. If you’ve been active all day, or if you’ve been working your head all day since the start of the morning, your eyes will get tired and you’ll get head aches by nighttime, but because there are so many different kinds of aroma oil I use each one to feel more refreshed!
