Last year, we had to say goodbye to the legendary life-size RX-78-2 Gundam in Odaiba. However, the life-size Unicorn Gundam did replace it, and is now standing where its predecessor used to stand. And now, exactly one year after they started dismantling the original Gundam, sakura are now blossoming alongside the Unicorn.

The location of the Gundam in Odaiba, as well as the sakura trees all around, make it a great hanami spot. And yes, once it transforms into Destroy mode, its pink psychoframe does compliment the surrounding sakura.

Now, imagine this one at night, with the Unicorn lighting up, and sakura falling all around. Now that certainly has a great Japanese appeal, with sakura and a giant robot, don’t you guys think? And you guys better hurry, or the sakura will all be gone by early April.
