Gundaminfo recently streamed a special new project announcement program online. It revealed a new Gundam anime titled Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative, or also known as Gundam NT. The new anime happens a year after the events of Gundam UC (Unicorn), during the year UC 0097.  Their official YouTube channel has now started streaming the announcement trailer:

Meanwhile, they have launched a new official website, which reveals the anime’s key visual:

The website also touched on the anime’s story, and here’s how it describes it:

U.C. 0097. One year since Laplace’s Box opened during Gundam UC. Despite the revelation of the original charter for the Universal Century, which acknowledges the existence of Newtypes and their rights, the world remains largely unchanged.

After the destruction of the Neo Zeon remnant force known as the Sleeves, the event that has come to be known as the “Laplace Incident” seems to have drawn to a close. In the final battle, two Full Psycho Frame mobile suits displayed power beyond human imagination. The public consciousness has now sealed away the menace of the White Unicorn and the Black Lion into a forgotten history.

But now, people are reporting sightings of the RX-0 Unicorn 03, which many thought was long thought lost two years ago. Its name is Phenex, an immortal golden bird.

Like most Gundam titles, the new anime’s main mecha is the Gundam Narrative. Earth Federation pilot, Yona Bashuta, will be piloting the new Gundam. Gundam NT will also feature mobile suits GunPla builders are very familiar with, and they are the Unicorn Gundam Phenex and the Sinanju Stein. The Phenex is the third mobile suit in the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam line, while the Sinanju Stein is a prototype mobile suit for Newtypes.

Like all the Gundam anime, Sunrise will be producing the film’s animation. Meanwhile, Shunichi Yoshizawa will be directing the anime and Harutoshi Fukui is penning the script. And much like the Gundam UC, GunPla and mecha designer, Hajime Katoki, will also be the mecha designer. The film will premiere in Japan sometime in November 2018 with theatrical screenings.
